PsySSA would like to congratulate Prof Saths Cooper on being awarded the International Science Council (ISC) Fellowship!
On 9 June 2022, The ISC announced the creation of a Foundation Fellowship and appointed 66 Foundation Fellows. The Fellowship is the highest honour that can be conferred on an individual by the International Science Council and is awarded to experts in the field who champion science in society and in policymaking.
The first cohort of Fellows includes eminent scientists, engineers and thought-leaders from across the world and from different disciplinary backgrounds and sectors of work. As scientific experts and as knowledge brokers, they uphold the ISC’s vision of science as a global public good, of knowledge that is shared openly and freely to all who wish to scrutinize it and to use it to further understanding.
As per Prof Cooper’s sentiment, “science and technology are important drivers of development, of society, of our educational and other systems, especially with the pandemic’s devastation we relied on science expertise. Evidence is what we require in science.”
